Patients Celebrate Halloween at Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic

While the children of Dana-Farber’s Jimmy Fund Clinic don’t need costumes to be considered superheroes, kids of all ages dress up for the festivities that include trick-or-treating, a pizza party, and a pumpkin-carving contest. The hospital-wide celebration begins in the Jimmy Fund Clinic and makes stops throughout Dana-Farber to make sure everybody in the hospital experiences the Halloween spirit.

Last year, many of the Jimmy Fund Clinic patients dressed up as vampires, pirates, and princesses, but Idonia had a different costume in mind. Idonia paraded along the trick-or-treat route through the halls of Dana-Farber dressed as a doctor.

“I love to go trick-or-treating and had a lot of fun celebrating Halloween at the (Jimmy Fund) Clinic. Last year, the (female) nurses dressed up as ‘boys’ – it was pretty funny – some even wore beards,” said Idonia.

From the creepy crawly decorations to the colorful array of costumes, Dana-Farber doctors and nurses make sure each Halloween is filled with spook-tacular surprises. This annual celebration gives patients a chance to participate in an event they otherwise might have missed while undergoing cancer treatment

We can’t wait to see how creative Dana-Farber patients, doctors, and staff were with their costumes this year! If you dressed up this year tell us what costume you wore with a comment below.
